At Yago School Málaga, the health and wellbeing of our students are a fundamental part of our commitment to families. That is why, through our School Nursing Department, we want to share practical recommendations to help care for children and be prepared for everyday accidents and unexpected situations.

This time, we are focusing on an essential item for every household: the home first aid kit.

Minor falls, scratches, bumps and insect bites are all part of everyday life for children. Although most of these incidents are not serious, having a well-organised first aid kit with the right supplies allows us to respond more quickly and confidently.

Why Is It Important to Have a First Aid Kit at Home?

Having a well-stocked and regularly updated home first aid kit is a simple preventive measure that can make a real difference when dealing with minor accidents.

However, it is not just about having the right supplies, but also knowing how to store them properly and keep them in good condition.

It is important to check the contents regularly, monitor expiry dates and pay particular attention to products that have a limited shelf life once opened. It is also advisable to store medicines separately and keep them out of children’s reach.

Small Steps That Help Keep the Whole Family Safe

Our School Nursing Department, in collaboration with RedVital Salud, has prepared an infographic outlining the essential supplies every home first aid kit should contain, along with practical recommendations on how to organise and store medical supplies and medicines correctly.

The aim is to help families have the necessary resources to deal with minor everyday incidents safely.

Caring for Our Students, In and Out of the Classroom

At Yago School Málaga, we believe that children’s wellbeing extends beyond the school environment. Our school nursing service plays an important role in the daily care and support of our students, promoting healthy habits and a culture of prevention.

Through initiatives like this, we aim to continue providing families with useful, accessible information to help them create safer environments for their children.

We invite you to explore the infographic accompanying this article, where you will find a practical guide to preparing and maintaining your home first aid kit.
