At Yago School Málaga, school life is enriched with excitement, identity and a strong sense of belonging through our House System, inspired by the long-standing British educational tradition that has shaped some of the world’s leading international schools.
From their very first day, every student becomes part of a House, a group that soon feels like a family within the school. The House names pay tribute to former Yago School campuses in England and Ireland, connecting our students with a rich international educational heritage rooted in history, values and tradition.
Throughout the academic year, the Houses take part in friendly competitions across academic, sporting, cultural and service-based challenges, earning House Points that encourage effort, personal growth, teamwork and mutual respect. Every achievement, whether individual or collective, is recognised and celebrated publicly, boosting students’ self-confidence and inspiring others to follow their example.
At the end of the school year, one House is crowned House of the Year, a highly anticipated and exciting moment that rewards consistency, commitment and collaborative spirit.
Each House is led by a Captain and a Vice-Captain, student leaders who represent their House, help organise activities and act as mentors to younger students. This structure fosters meaningful connections across different year groups, encouraging peer support, leadership and a strong sense of community throughout the school.
Our House System is more than a tradition, it is a unique educational experience where every student feels they belong, that their contribution matters, and that they are part of something truly special… almost magical.
