Today we are proud to share a milestone that marks a turning point in our educational project.
At Yago School Málaga, we have officially received authorization to offer the Middle Years Programme (MYP) of the International Baccalaureate, taking a decisive step forward in building a coherent and high-quality international educational pathway for our students.
This achievement has come in record time: less than a year after being authorized to offer the Diploma Programme (DP), the IB’s pre-university programme that we already deliver fully in English.
Continuing to build a complete international pathway
The addition of the Middle Years Programme allows us to continue advancing our vision: supporting our students throughout their growth within a strong, challenging academic framework that is closely connected to the real world.
With the MYP, we move one step closer to consolidating a continuous IB pathway, enabling a natural transition between educational stages and reinforcing our commitment to international education in Málaga based on:
- Meaningful learning
- Critical thinking
- A global mindset
- Real preparation for the future
We know that families looking for an international school seek not only academic excellence but also educational coherence. Integrating the MYP into our project is therefore a natural evolution of our model.
A key stage in our students’ development
The Middle Years Programme is designed for a particularly important stage: adolescence.
During these years, we guide our students not only in acquiring knowledge but also in developing the essential skills they will need in their personal and academic lives.
Through the MYP we foster:
✔ Analytical thinking
✔ Connections between disciplines
✔ Real-world learning
✔ The development of autonomy
Our goal is for students to understand the world around them, learn to ask meaningful questions, and develop their own perspectives. We aim to educate students who are able to think, make decisions and act responsibly.
Our commitment to the International Baccalaureate
The International Baccalaureate is recognised by universities worldwide for its focus on active learning, inquiry and student autonomy.
By implementing the Middle Years Programme alongside the Diploma Programme, we continue to strengthen our commitment to an education that:
- Goes beyond memorisation
- Encourages independent thinking
- Develops an international mindset
Our goal is to prepare students not only to access the world’s leading universities, but also to thrive with confidence in a global environment.
Moving forward
We remain committed to creating an environment where every student can grow, discover their potential and develop the tools needed to make a positive impact on the world.
